Unfortunately a few rules are always needed.... We assume that everyone knows these rules and abides by them.
Rule 1 - the all-important - THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK.
In Real Life it's all too easy to misunderstand each other, and this goes three times as much online where you can't see facial expressions or hear intonations in voice. Before you click "post", read your post one more time and try to see how it will come across to others. And if someone does misunderstand you, try to explain calmly how you truly meant things.
Rule 2 - NO DISCRIMINATION
Otherwise you'll be immediately and permanently banned.
Rule 3 - STAY ON TOPIC and POST IN THE RIGHT BOARD.
If a conversation seems to drift, make a new thread so that everyone knows what a whole thread's about.
If you make a new thread, do so in the right board. The mods will, if they see fit, move a thread they think is in the wrong place, and they don't have to give a reason.
This rule ensures that people can easily find the threads that interest them.
Rule 4 - NO GINORMOUS PHOTOS
Unfortunately not everyone has lightening-quick internet. Please post a thumbnail with a link to the bigger version. We love photos!
Rule 5 - BE NICE
This is also important. Not everyone thinks the same way over everything, and that's ok, as otherwise the world would be pretty dull. Discussion is allowed, personal insults aren't. The latter will incur measures (muahaha).
Rule 6 - BE CONSIDERATE
This doesn't just mean not swearing or using obscene language, but also using correct grammar and spelling. Your point will be better expressed if you can use proper Dutch or English, and it's pleasanter to read too.
Try not to go crazy with the ?'s and !'s, otherwise we'll run out.
One smiley is cool, but ten of them all at once is...a little OTT.
If you have questions about the rules, reply to the thread "Vraag het de mods" (ask the mods) in de Keuken!
